Yes. Winter at the Zoo.
I know. You’re thinking “Hell no we won’t go!” but, seriously. If you can bundle up and deal with a little chilly weather, it is worth it.
Here’s why:
1. No crowd.
I’m pretty sure we were the only ones there for the first hour. We didn’t have to deal with the stroller bumpers, the exhibit passer-throughers, the pushy kids, or the annoying parents always loudly quizzing their kids (or showing off what good parents they are)… And let’s not forget kids on leashes (here boy, here Carson, come here boy).
2. The animals were extremely active
We stood at each exhibit watching for a good 10 minutes at least. The tiger was spraying and pouncing around. The gorilla was doing that thing we’re they sit up against the glass the turn and stare at you, all sad. The lions were playful and um.. Well, we’ll just stick with playful (if you, uh, catch my drift). The giraffe tried to escape and the monkeys were monkeying.
3. Did I mention no crowd?
I didn’t take any pictures because we too busy soaking up the awesomeness of the zoo during winter!
